Prison is a rough place. A lot of violent men, who eventually act out their pain.
Where did the pain come from? Their desire for what, or who, is lost to them. Pain and tears we all feel when what brings us pleasure is taken away.
What do we have taken away, in a world of illusion? Our illusions.
I watched the Soviets collapse, and wept. I saw my generation fight against war in Vietnam, and started to feel safe. Now Iraq. It’s enough to make ANYONE cry with rage.
Yet I don’t. It took me 50-odd years (and they were VERY odd!) to understand that opposing never brings success. Only temporary relief.
Building love is the real work. And few reach that stage. Yes, BUILDING! Allowing us all to grow as a new world is built. Not born. Built.
Everyone these days, is taught to look for the end result. Forgetting the seed. Plant seeds! You’ll not see the results….. but your Faith……will build a new way for thousands.
Remember before you became selfish? Of course you don’t. A hardness is necessary…. in THIS world.
That is why living for others, has been discredited. If you are too good, this world will insult and harm you. Faith. We all need more Faith in the good. And our usefulness to others, will increase……
but not if we can’t take a bit of stick. Even the best racehorse has spur-marks. Cindy…. if you read this. Get back up and FIGHT for what you believe in….. or accept that your period of protest was really only disillusionment. Come on Cindy! Suffering either makes you more bitter….. or better! Which is it to be?
In prisons across America and Britain…. they are watching!!!
